Visiting the Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City

Last month, my mom and I had to travel to Wichita, Kansas, for a week. We ended up flying in and out of Oklahoma City, since it was quite a bit cheaper than flying into Wichita.

Our flight didn't leave until later in the afternoon, so we had to find something to do until our flight left. I was doing some searching online and came across the Myriad Botanical Gardens and thought we would check it out!

They have a pretty big outside garden area, and even though we were there mid March, most of the flowers outside had already bloomed and died, so there wasn't too much growing outside. We had a really late spring here in the Northwest, so it was kind of weird to go there and see spring had already come and gone!

The weather was pretty hot and humid that day (I believe the high was 82 that day). We arrived in the morning and explored the outside area before heading in.

Once inside, we spent a few hours wandering around and exploring. Luckily there wasn't too many people there, which made it quite nice for taking pictures!

The gardens had some water features, lots of orchids, and jungle type plants. Almost everything was labeled so you knew what type of plant everything was. They also had lots of different food plants: banana tree, mango tree, chocolate tree, coffee plant, etc.

The garden isn't too big, and we spent around 3 hours there, taking pictures and walking around. If you weren't taking pictures, you could probably get through the place faster. I probably could have stayed a little longer, but it was just unbearably hot and we just couldn't take it any longer!

Overall, my mom and I enjoyed the gardens! We didn't get a chance to explore any more of downtown Oklahoma City, so I don't know that I would consider this a 'must see' or anything, but we thought it was nice!

April Target Naturals Beauty Box Review

Juice Organics Deluxe-Size Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner: This shampoo and conditioner was okay. It left my hair feeling a little bit dry, and I didn't notice any difference in volume. It does have a nice scent to it. But overall just an okay product.

I guess if I am comparing this to organic shampoo and conditioners in general (which I have had VERY bad luck with. I have tried just about every brand and they all leave my hair feeling extremely dry or extremely oily.) than I would consider this an excellent product. But if I am comparing this to regular shampoo (like Pantene or something) than it's just okay.
Raw Sugar Lemon Sugar Body Wash: I'm not really sold on this body wash. The product itself was okay, lemon just isn't my favorite scent for a body wash. I don't mind lemon as a candle or even a hand soap, but this just smelled a little too much like lemon pledge for my liking. I would probably try this brand in another scent though.

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask: The mask smelled okay, and I did get two uses out of it as there is quite a bit of mud in the package. It did cause my skin to break out a bit, but I'm not sure if that is because it actually pulled stuff out of my skin as part of the cleansing process, or if it was because of the mud itself.

ACURE Pore Clarifying Red Clay Scrub: I really liked this cleanser. It has an interesting smell to it, and the cleanser itself is a pretty color! It left my skin feeling really soft and smooth. I would probably go out and buy this.
Hello Extra Whitening Pure Mint Fluoride Toothpaste: I did not like this toothpaste at all. It's advertised as being natural, but I didn't care for some of the ingredients in it, such as sodium lauryl sulfate. The toothpaste itself is runny and oddly enough, I couldn't taste any mint! Mint is such a strong flavor, especially in toothpastes, I thought it odd I couldn't taste it at all. And since I couldn't taste the mint, my breath didn't feel fresh or clean afterwards.
Burt's Bees White Tea Extract Facial Cleansing Towelettes: These wipes worked pretty good at removing makeup. I had tried some Burt's Bees makeup remover wipes in the past and they left my skin feeling really sticky, but these did not do that.

SheaMoisture Kukui Nut Facial Cream Cleanser + Face & Neck Cream: I haven't tried this.

Overall this wasn't too bad of a box! I was excited when I saw that Target had this naturals box, as I typically try to stick with all natural/organic beauty products. Most of them can be a little expensive on their own, so it was nice to get a bunch of samples in one box!

Have you tried any of these products?

April Ipsy Glam Bag Review

defy & Inspire Wear Resistant Nail Lacquer in Paradise Island: This isn't a shade I would have picked out for myself, but I did like it once it was on. Maybe a little brighter than I would have preferred, but not bad overall! I'm on day for of wearing it now, and I only have a couple tiny chips (which for me is pretty good! I spend a lot of time cooking and working with my hands) So overall I like it!
SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Face Toner: I wasn't really expecting anything from this, but I ended up liking it. It leaves my skin feeling clean and seemed to reduce redness. It also has a nice smell. And it has mostly organic ingredients, which is a plus!
Ciaté London Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Star Island: I wasn't really expecting to like it, but the color is nice. It's subtle, which I like as I am not really into dramatic contouring or anything. I typically stick with a more natural look, so this works well for me.
Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner in Black: I'm not really a fan of liquid liners, and I seem to be getting a lot of these lately! This one was just okay. Really nothing spectacular or noteworthy about it. It worked fine and was easy to use. I don't really have an opinion either way on it. It was just okay.
TONYMOLY Liptone LipCare Stick in Rose Blossom: I have never used a rose flavored lip balm before, so I liked that it was something different. It did seem somewhat moisturizing. I also liked that it had a lipstick shape to it too.
Overall this was a pretty good bag. I liked all of the products and don't really have any complaints about any of them. I could do without getting so many liquid eyeliners, but that's really it. There isn't one item that I really loved, but overall this was a nice bag!
