February Ipsy Glam Bag Review

NYX Professional Makeup Butter™ Lipstick in Ripe Berry: I liked this lipstick. The color was maybe a little bit darker than I would typically buy, but once I put it on I really liked how it looked. It's actually been my go-to lipstick lately! It felt soft on my lips and also did not dry my lips out.
Biobelle #StayGorgeous sheet mask and #Iwokeuplikethis sheet mask: I actually really liked these sheet masks. When I first took the mask off, my face was a little red, so I was worried about how my skin was going to react to the mask; but by the next morning my skin was so smooth and soft! There was also so much leftover liquid in the bag from the mask, I was able to just rub it on my face and essentially use it again. Just without the actual sheet itself.
Lord & Berry LINE/SHADE Eye Pencil - #221 Black: I just kind of swiped this on like I typically do and was surprised at how much bolder this is than my regular eyeliner! The application is so smooth you can use a lighter hand when applying since it's so bold. I try not to go too dark with the eyeliner, so it's just something to be mindful of, but I did like this.
BelláPierre Cosmetics Volumelash Waterproof Mascara: This mascara is just okay. I didn't feel like it gave my lashes any volume, in fact, it seemed like it did the opposite. It just wasn't anything special. I didn't really get a chance to test the waterproof-ness of it, but it seemed like it would be okay. I didn't notice any flaking, but after applying about three coats I still didn't really notice any volume or fullness or anything.
Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in $12 Latte: If I'm totally honest, I probably won't be trying this nail polish. I just am really not a fan of the color. Brown just isn't a color I typically go for when painting my nails. I don't paint my nails very often, and this is just not a color I want to waste my time with if I am going to paint my nails.

I did like the packaging though. I thought it looked very nice.
Overall, this wasn't too bad of a bag. I got a nice variety of products which was nice! The only thing I really didn't care for was the nail polish, and that was just because I really didn't care for the color!

Have you tried any of these products?

Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea Bright on a Budget, and  Della Devoted!

1. So here is another round of what I got from the Target Dollar spot. Haha. There were so many fun spring things! I got all of this stuff to use for scrapbooking. Nobody else sells inexpensive scrapbooking supplies, so it's nice to have a place to find some cheap stuff to use!

I also got his cute little bunny.
2. So I have a bit of a What Would You Do situation for you...
I placed an online order for a local fast-casual burger place earlier this week. My sister and I leave to go pick it up. We make one stop on the way and I have a message from the online processing center saying there was an issue processing the order, but that she was going to go ahead and process it anyways and we would just pay when we arrived to pick up the food.

We arrive at the place and our order is not there. The employee working there was so extremely rude and disrespectful to us, I was completely caught off guard at how to respond to her. The employee at the cash register said, after the rude girl left, that they had been having issues with the online orders lately.

Okay, that's fine, I understand how those things can happen, but for this other girl to step way out of line and very loudly, and in a rude tone announce that, "YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED." (while there was a line of people behind us!) was totally uncalled for. (It wasn't, for the record. As I had just used it. AFTER I had placed the order.) It was so embarrassing! Even though there was nothing wrong with the card.

No one in the store apologized for the situation, and on top of all that, we had to wait 20 minutes for our order.

So what would you do? Would you post a negative Facebook review of the place, explaining what happened? Let it go? On one hand, I'm thinking the company should know how one of their employees is treating customers, but on the other, I'm figuring they probably don't care. I'm not one of those people who complains just so they can get a free meal or anything. And I don't know what I expect the company to do, it was just so uncalled for that I definitely will not ever go back!

3. So I got my taxes done earlier this week. It took way longer than it should have. I had my mom helping me, and a call to TurboTax later, and we finally got it done. It's a good thing taxes only happen once a year!

4. I don't know why I've had a hard time posting lately, I only got one post up this week. I have a lot of ideas, just finding the time to get them written up has been a bit hard! I made a lot of progress this week though. I've got some pictures taken, a few more to take, and I've got probably a dozen posts in my drafts folder to finish. So be on the lookout for some new posts next week!

5. So I did get one post up this week. I shared some pictures of our Valentine's day.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day-in Pictures

I always try to make Valentine's Day a little fun! I don't know why everyone tries to make it sound like it's cool to hate on Valentine's day, what's wrong with having an excuse to celebrate something? Especially when it comes to showing your family/friends/whomever that you love them?

All things pink, red, and hearts are fun too!
I made a Dutch baby pancake for breakfast (pink of course!) My mom got my siblings and I some candy and a nice card. Then later that morning I went downtown and did some shopping at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. My mom and I had lunch together at Chick-fil-A, then we headed home.

I had planned a Valentine's day themed dinner of heart shaped pizzas, sparkling pink lemonade, and a funfetti cake I made for dessert.
Did you do anything for Valentine's day?

Five For Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea Bright on a Budget, and  Della Devoted!

1. I'm always on the lookout for new recipes to try, and when I came across this baking book, I was excited to see that our library actually had it! (Our local library system is not that great.)

The pictures were so pretty and I will need to go out and buy both books! When I saw the recipe for nanaimo bar cupcakes though, I HAD to try them!

The cupcakes turned out SO good! I really like baked goods, but am not a fan of overly sweet stuff. Which is why I prefer baking things myself so I can control how much sugar goes into what I bake. These cupcakes were so fluffy and chocolatey, but not overly sweet. And the custard icing was great too! Definitely a win!
2. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had ordered a couple of tops from American Eagle, and while I really liked this tee, I ended up returning the other one. This one was just so boxy and looked really weird. I love a good floral pattern, and this reminded me of Delft blue pottery.
3. With Valentine's day coming up next week, I thought I would share a couple DIY garlands I posted a couple years ago! I made a card garland and a quick and easy pom pom garland. Do you have any plans for Valentine's day?
4. I also had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was giving our ice cream maker one last chance to work properly, and I'm happy to report that my ice cream did turn out!

It was only a little runny, but no where near what it was doing!
5. Just in case you missed it, on Monday I shared a review of my January Ipsy glam bag! You should check it out!
Hope you have a great weekend!
