Spring Flowers

Just a few pictures of some of the flowers I've seen around! We don't really have any landscaping at our house, but I enjoy the lone lilac bush in our backyard!

We also have a tree in our front yard that has pink flowers. It looks sort of like a cherry blossom tree, but I don't think it's actually a cherry blossom tree. It smells horrible and has very tiny pink flowers. (Starting at the fifth picture down.) And then of course the last two are my favorite-cherry blossoms!

Spring

I've been thinking a lot about spring time lately. Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons. I like all of the pretty flowers and everything coming back to life in the spring, and I enjoy seeing all of the beautiful colors in the fall.

Both seasons usually have pretty decent weather. Generally not too hot and not too cold; which I really like!

We're going to Washington in the near-future, and I am hoping we will be able to make it up to the Skagit Valley tulip festival. It's been quite a few years since we've been (2008 to be exact!!!) and I thought I would share some pictures from way back then!

While looking through these pictures, I just can't believe it's been 8 years since I took them! It seems like a lifetime ago.

Anyways, onto the pictures!
Reminiscing about the tulip festival is really making me want to go even more!

Have you ever been to a tulip festival?

Easter recap

Hello everyone! How was your weekend?

Saturday night my sister Hannah and I decorated our Easter eggs. I had wanted to do them earlier in the day, but we were gone most of the day and then I spent all afternoon cooking, so we didn't get around to dying eggs until 9 that night. Oh well!
Yes, that egg on the bottom right is a Dalek egg. Hannah has been wanting to make a Dalek egg for quite a while. EGGSTERMINATE!!!
Hannah likes to do a character egg. She has done a sumo wrestler and Wario in the past. They're always pretty funny!

Anyways, the next morning Hannah and I got Easter baskets.
Yes, we had kind of a European candy theme this year! My basket is on the left and Hannah's is on the right.

We had breakfast and then headed off to church for the Easter service. Church was pretty good and we had to stop by the store on the way home because I forgot the cheese for my spinach salad.

It rained off and on all day so we decided to try going for a walk once it stopped raining. It ended up raining a little bit again once we started out on our walk, but it was nothing us Washingtonians couldn't handle ;)

Once we were back home, I started dinner. We didn't have a big dinner, just chicken, spinach salad, deviled eggs, and a baguette. It was all very good if I do say so myself!
For dessert I made a chocolate pie. Which was also very good!

My mom and I ended the evening by watching some tv.
Overall, we had a nice, quiet Easter.
Did you have a nice Easter? Did you do anything fun or exciting?

Tulips

I really like having fresh flowers in the house, so I picked up a small bouquet of tulips from the grocery store last week. I took a few pictures with my phone and was surprised at how well the pictures turned out! I guess I am always surprised when my iPhone pictures turn out well since I am so used to shooting with my DSLR!

Spring will come - eventually

I'm kind of wishing spring would hurry up and get here. I don't mind the snow; but we haven't had any snow since Christmas and it is just ugly outside. Towards the beginning of February, the weather started getting pretty warm and we thought spring was coming early. It has now started getting colder again and I am looking forward to spring flowers!
Anyone else ready for spring?
