Lavender Farm Visit

Back in June my mom and I visited a local lavender farm. To prevent overcrowding, you had to reserve a time slot online. We weren't quite sure what to expect from this farm as we had never visited before, but since my mom loves lavender, we thought it would be a fun thing to do considering how long we've been stuck in the house!

After arriving and checking in, we were a little put off by how expensive it was to pick lavender. It was $8 for a single 1-inch key ring size bunch. (Compared to the lavender farm we went to in Idaho where it was $5 for huge bundles.)

The field seemed pretty picked over, but my mom was able to pick 2 bunches while I managed to take quite a few pictures. There were so many bumble bees as well as butterflies and moths flying around it made for some nice pictures.

We headed out to a local lavender farm a couple weekends ago so my mom could pick some lavender. We had visited this farm last year and I also wanted to get some pictures! 

It had been raining on and off all day, so during a break in the rain we headed out. 

Most of the lavender had been picked over, so while my mom and sister picked some bunches, I took pictures.

We weren't there too long before it started raining again. I didn't want my camera to get wet so I finished up taking pictures and hurried back to the car while my mom and sister finished up.

Despite the rain and the gray light tone, I still got a few nice shots.

 The bee flew away right as I took the picture. While it turned out blurry, I still kinda like it!

Last month we went out to a lavender farm. My mom really likes lavender and had read about a place not too far away from us that grew some. We have always wanted to go out to the lavender festival in Sequim, WA, but unfortunately it didn't happen this year. We had the impression that this was a pretty big place and we were expecting huge fields of lavender. Turns out it was only a tiny little patch out in the middle of nowhere. Oh well. We did get a few bunches (which were pretty inexpensive) and I got some nice pictures. So it definitely wasn't a wasted trip! And it definitely was pretty!
