Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am Linking up with Bright on a BudgetDella DevotedBYBMG and Andrea!

I hope you all had a great week despite how weird it's been! Although as an introvert, it's pretty much been a normal week around here! I went grocery shopping last Friday morning, which isn't my normal grocery shopping day and I am sure glad I went when I did as things got CRAZY Friday evening and all through the weekend. I was able to buy everything we needed (I just bought our normal stuff.) but I was surprised at how many people had carts just overflowing with stuff.

So we're doing well. Keeping busy. I have lots of hobbies to keep me going which has been good. And we've gone out a couple of times to parks to go for walks, and we even went to the local botanical garden yesterday which was nice.

1. Last week my mom and I went out to Virginia Beach to go for a walk before doing a bit of shopping. We stopped by Joann's, Target, Trader Joe's, and then Wegman's for a few things before going to Shake Shack for a late lunch/early dinner.
2. While we were at Wegman's I picked up this pretty bouquet of flowers. Their flowers are usually kind of pricey so I was surprised that these were only $4! The colors are fun and I enjoy looking at them whenever I'm in the kitchen!
3. I bought this eyeshadow palette at Target last week and I gotta say, I am really liking it. The colors are just so pretty and pigmented. Although make sure you use a decent primer first because otherwise it does kind of crease and disappear throughout the day.
4. Cookie dough ice cream is my all time favorite, so when I saw Blue Bell was releasing this I knew I had to get it! I found the little pint at Walmart and then later found a larger tub at Kroger, so both are in my freezer right now. And let me tell you, this ice cream is SO good! My sister and I both really liked it and I am definitely going to be having some tonight!
5. Since we've been stuck at home I've done a bit of baking. I made a little 6" funfetti cake earlier this week. And then on Wednesday I made some chicken tortilla soup and a little loaf of artisan bread. Both turned out really good!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I went shopping bright and early on Friday morning as well but it was already pretty crazy. We got what we needed and good thing too because we stopped in just for fresh fruits and vegetables last night and found that there was no meat, no frozen foods, hardly any veggies and fruits.. it was crazy to see the difference and we're being told that nothing is staying on the shelves long at all. I am so glad I went when I did! I love those shades of eye shadow and I often buy myself flowers from the grocery store for a little pick me up too.

  2. Looks like a wonderful walk along the beach. It has been crazy here but I went out last Saturday before the "Shelter in Place" order went into effect and bought what I needed.

  3. I hear ya, as weird it as it is, it definitely helps being an introvert! It's good that you've still been able to get out in nature a bit! Also, if you like cookie dough, you might like The Tonight Dough by Ben and Jerry. It's DELISH, and also fairly chocolately, which is my jam. (I usually add chocolate syrup to traditional vanilla cookie dough ice cream, haha.)

  4. That's good you were able to get what you needed! Now, weeks later, it's certainly getting more difficult! And it's amazing what a difference a bouquet of flowers can make!

  5. It was a very nice walk! That's nice you were able to get what you needed! Now, weeks later, it is getting to be a lot harder to find what you need at the grocery store!

  7. Actually it depends when you go. I live near a couple of grocery stores and I can pretty much find what I need between them. I usually go early in the morning.

  8. That's nice! The time of day you visit the grocery store can certainly make a difference!
