Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea Bright on a Budget, and  Della Devoted!

1. So here is another round of what I got from the Target Dollar spot. Haha. There were so many fun spring things! I got all of this stuff to use for scrapbooking. Nobody else sells inexpensive scrapbooking supplies, so it's nice to have a place to find some cheap stuff to use!

I also got his cute little bunny.
2. So I have a bit of a What Would You Do situation for you...
I placed an online order for a local fast-casual burger place earlier this week. My sister and I leave to go pick it up. We make one stop on the way and I have a message from the online processing center saying there was an issue processing the order, but that she was going to go ahead and process it anyways and we would just pay when we arrived to pick up the food.

We arrive at the place and our order is not there. The employee working there was so extremely rude and disrespectful to us, I was completely caught off guard at how to respond to her. The employee at the cash register said, after the rude girl left, that they had been having issues with the online orders lately.

Okay, that's fine, I understand how those things can happen, but for this other girl to step way out of line and very loudly, and in a rude tone announce that, "YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED." (while there was a line of people behind us!) was totally uncalled for. (It wasn't, for the record. As I had just used it. AFTER I had placed the order.) It was so embarrassing! Even though there was nothing wrong with the card.

No one in the store apologized for the situation, and on top of all that, we had to wait 20 minutes for our order.

So what would you do? Would you post a negative Facebook review of the place, explaining what happened? Let it go? On one hand, I'm thinking the company should know how one of their employees is treating customers, but on the other, I'm figuring they probably don't care. I'm not one of those people who complains just so they can get a free meal or anything. And I don't know what I expect the company to do, it was just so uncalled for that I definitely will not ever go back!

3. So I got my taxes done earlier this week. It took way longer than it should have. I had my mom helping me, and a call to TurboTax later, and we finally got it done. It's a good thing taxes only happen once a year!

4. I don't know why I've had a hard time posting lately, I only got one post up this week. I have a lot of ideas, just finding the time to get them written up has been a bit hard! I made a lot of progress this week though. I've got some pictures taken, a few more to take, and I've got probably a dozen posts in my drafts folder to finish. So be on the lookout for some new posts next week!

5. So I did get one post up this week. I shared some pictures of our Valentine's day.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Mmm...that cake looks good. That's awful about the person who was rude to you at the food place. Honestly, I probably would have just left. I'm not sure about complaining. Can you write the manager or speak to one the next time you go? That might be taken more seriously than just writing on Facebook etc.

  2. Ugh, I hate unpleasant confrontations with people. Just reading about your issue at the food place was making me sweat! I might leave a negative review, just to feel like I did SOMETHING because their behavior was so out of line. But I never know what to do in those situations. I might have just left and hyperventilated about it in my car! In happier news, you got some great stuff from the Dollar Spot! I'm excited to see the cute things they have for spring! (I haven't been there since Valentine's was dominating everything haha.)

  3. It was really good! And that is a good idea. I hate sounding like 'that person' who has to complain about things, but then again, you do need to stand up for yourself every once in a while!

  4. It's so awful! I probably should have just left, or at least asked to speak to the manager right then. But things are always different in hindsight! The Valentine's stuff was crazy! It seemed like it lasted from like the day after Christmas to it just finally going away. Way too long if you ask me! Haha
