Browned butter chocolate chip skillet cookie

Skillet cookies have been on my list of things to bake for quite a while. I revised my chocolate chip cookie recipe to make this delicious browned butter chocolate chip skillet cookie.
1 stick (8 tblsp.) butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
About a cup of chocolate chips

1. Preheat over to 350°F.
2. Make browned butter in a medium sized skillet. Set aside for about 5 minutes to cool.
3. Add sugars to browned butter and mix together. Then mix in the egg and vanilla.
4. Add flour and baking soda and stir.
5. Mix in the chocolate chips.
6. Flatten dough with the back of the spoon so it covers the bottom of the skillet.
7. Bake for 10-13 minutes. (I overcooked mine slightly. You want it to be a little doughy looking still.)
8. Remove from oven and top with ice cream, chocolate syrup, and caramel if desired.
Enjoy!

Five for Friday

Hello everyone and hope you all had a good week. I am linking up with Coffee With Caitlin, Cup of Tea, and Della Devoted for another Five for Friday post.

1. My dad and I saw American Sniper earlier this week. We both though it was really, good (we could have done without the excessive use of the f-word, but that's probably just us :/ ) Anyways, it was a pretty good movie.

2. There's going to be Doctor Who Legos. I'm pretty sure it's going to be awesome.

3. I just came across this website named soundrown. It's a site with different noises you can listen to. Such as the rain, waves, or birds. And you can combine noises so you can listen to rain and the ocean. It's pretty nice if you want some background noise!

4. Have you seen Jimmy Fallon's lip sync battle? If you haven't you need to because it's really funny! They're all pretty good, but I think my favorite is either Jimmy doing Kelly Clakrson (at the 2:28 mark) or Will Ferrell doing Let It Go (at the 6:25 mark).

5. So, this happened last night. Entirely unhealthy, but extremely good! Recipe coming soon!
See you on Monday!

Quick and easy Valentine's day garland

Today I thought I would share a quick and easy Valentine's day garland. I don't have any decorations for Valentine's day, so I went searching for some ideas on Pinterest. I came across some garlands similar to this one, so I thought I would share what I made.
All you will need to make this garland is some pink, red, and white pompoms, as well as a needle and thread. Pretty simple!
I purchased these white pompoms, these red pompoms, and these pink pompoms on Amazon.
Knot one end of the string and thread the pom poms on! Pretty simple and makes a fun decoration!

Superbowl Sunday recap

Sunday we ran a couple of errands in the afternoon, and then came back and fixed some food while watching the game. The food was quite good..

The game was good until the last quarter :/ We were pretty disappointed with the outcome of the game. It was difficult to watch the Seahawks lose at the 1 yard line!
I guess there is always next year! We will always be Seahawks fans!

Five for Friday

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great week! I'm here with another edition of Five for Friday! I'm linking up with Coffee With Caitlin, Cup of Tea, and Della Devoted!

1. I finished knitting my first blanket this past week! I'm a little excited about it. It is SO soft!
2. On Monday, we had a movie and dessert night. We hadn't watched National Treasure in a while, and thought it sounded good. We also made brownie sundaes, which are always good!
3. I did my nails earlier this week. I didn't have Seahawks colors, so I went with what I had. And I thought I would try the accent nail thing that is so popular right now; but I'm not sure if I really like it. It's kind of annoying me not to have nails all the same color!
4. We're celebrating my dads birthday today (a little late because he was gone on his actual birthday.). We have some presents and we're going to go out to lunch today. He requested a spice cake, so I made that as well. And on a side note, why is it so hard to find a recipe for a spice cake? I looked on Pinterest and they were all for pumpkin spice cakes, there were hardly any for a regular spice cake! I finally found a couple that didn't sound too bad, so I hope it tastes ok!

5. Are you ready for the Superbowl on Sunday? Go Seahawks! I've got my menu all ready and I think we're ready for the game!

Have a great weekend!

My Super Bowl Sunday menu

Since the Super Bowl is this Sunday (Go Hawks!), I thought I would share my menu! It's just going to be my parents, my sister and I, but that isn't going to stop me from making a bunch of food!
Anyways, I think I'm going to make:
-Deviled eggs
-Stuffed mushrooms (I'm not going to follow this recipe exactly, but this will be a place to start since I've never made stuffed mushrooms before.)
-7 layer dip
-Carrot sticks and dip
I forgot to pick up some Skittles, so I might have to get a bag of those.
And I'm not sure about anything else!
What are you making?

Las Vegas mini book

We visited Las Vegas about two and a half years ago. It wasn't really somewhere we were planning on going, we stopped for a couple of days while driving back to Arizona. I did a scrapbook after the trip, but I had always planned on making a mini book. I finally got around to it and put this one together.
I have somewhat of a minimalist approach when I'm scrapbooking. I don't like to use a lot of embellishments or anything. I use some, but, especially when I'm doing mini books, I like to keep it really simple.
