Confessions

Just sharing a few random things I'm confessing today...

//Flip flops. I can't stand wearing them. Besides the fact they are swarming with bacteria, it drives me crazy that most people seem to forget how to walk when wearing them. People either shuffle their feet, drag their feet, or suddenly sound like they've grown flippers and slap around.
//I've never really been interested in going to Disneyland/world. I mean, if someone invited me I would probably go, but the idea of spending hundreds of dollars to stand around in long lines with a million other people does not sound like fun! I am not a fan of crowds at all. All the noise and people is just too much sometimes. I would much rather take a trip to Europe or something.
//I can't stand soft foods. I've only recently come to this realization, but I just don't like any food I don't have to chew. Even if I eat something like ice cream or pudding, I have to put sprinkles or something crunchy on it. I think it's mostly just a texture thing. Especially if it's something like oatmeal. I just can't do it.
//On the same topic of foods, I am also a really slow eater. I don't try to eat slow, but I'm always the last one at the table eating. Even if I start eating first, I still end up being finished last.

//I love writing things by hand. I definitely wouldn't say I have the best hand writing in the world, but penmanship was always important to me. But for some reason I just enjoy writing things down! I have tons of stationary and pens, and just like making lists and stuff. While most people keeps tons of lists on their phones (I do that too!) I always write things down as well. Maybe weirder, but I'll start a grocery list on my phone and then go home and write it on a piece of paper. Haha! There's something nice about physically crossing stuff off a list!
//I get serious anxiety about talking on the phone to people I don't know. Like, I have to rehearse what I'm going to say when I order a pizza.

I can talk to people face to face no problem, but for some reason talking on the phone is so nerve-wracking!
//Well, I was going to do 7 things but I just can't think of another one!

Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea , Della Devoted , and Bright on a Budget!

1. Can I just say I am so glad it's finally the weekend? This week felt like it dragged and went by really fast all at the same time. Between it being really stressful at work this week, plus a bunch of other stuff going on, I'm so glad the week is almost done!

I'm planning on making some grilled pizza for dinner, watching a movie or something, and maybe making some homemade ice cream!

2. There's a great little ice cream stand by my work my boss had told me about, and, since I pretty much never turn down ice cream, I had to go check it out! I ordered cookie dough (that's a single scoop!). It was pretty good! Considering how hot it was that day (it was around 100°) it was definitely a nice treat!
3. On Monday all our mail was delivered from when we were gone last week, and I was quite happy to find so much fun mail!  Ipsy, my Love With Food box, Target beauty box, an Archie comic, and some magazines!
4. We have to drive through Portland, OR, on our way back to Boise, so we always make sure to stop at Ikea! I picked up a few fun things.

I got this mirror (although now I'm annoyed because I wanted it in white but they didn't have it when we were there, so I got it in black. Oh well.), this notice board, and this jar
(The jar is filled with these delicious candies! I tried them in my June Love With Food box and had enough points to get a bunch of them!)

Ikea is just one of my favorite places. I can always find something I need there!

5. I only got one post up this week (refer back to the beginning of the post!), so check out my Currently post if you missed it!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Does anyone have any fun plans?

Currently

I just got back from being in Washington last week so I thought I would do a little currently post as an update on what's been going on!

Watching -  The summer Olympics! I wasn't expecting to get into it this year, but I've been watching quite a bit of it!

The women's gymnastics were pretty incredible! And the swimming (men's and women's!) was pretty exciting!

Wishing - I had found a car while we were in Washington. Long story short, my dad and I spent a lot of time driving around south of Seattle and even some of Portland trying to find a car. Unfortunately buying a car has turned into somewhat of a nightmare. We saw close to a dozen cars that all had major problems (none of which can be seen in pictures of course.) so it's back to looking again.

Needing to - Get ready for work! Back to the real world today! ;)

Trying - Not to get too disappointed with the car buying experience. I've spent SO much time researching cars and I know what cars I want, it's just hard to find with the right mileage. And it sucks when I do find something and it ends up being a piece of crap because the previous owners didn't take care of it. Throw in rude or annoying car salesmen and it just stinks.

Buying - I haven't bought anything in a little while now. My parents bought me a couple things at Ikea while we were in Portland, so I'm excited about that stuff! I'll share more on Friday.

Reading - When Death Draws Near by Carrie Stuart Parks. I'm only maybe a quarter of the way into the book, but so far it's really good! I loved her first two books, so I knew this was going to be great as well!

Working on - Replying to blog comments! I have a few more left to go.

What have you been up to lately?

Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea , Della Devoted , and Bright on a Budget!

1. Our neighbors gave us some fresh zucchini from their garden so I made up some of my browned butter and apple zucchini bread! It was really good! (You should try it!)

And a helpful tip, but if you line the pan with parchment paper, all you have to do is lift the bread right out and you don't lose any of the topping!
2. The August Target beauty box came out earlier this week so I ordered that. I skipped the boxes from last month because they looked pretty lame. But this one is full of products I like!

The lipstick looks like a great shade, and I'm interested in trying the organic lotion. And Crest white strips are always good too!
3. My mom and I had some stuff to do downtown, so while my mom was getting her hair cut, I stopped and picked up some coffee from a new-to-me coffee shop. The coffee was okay, but there ended up being a cancellation at the hair place so I was able to get in and get my hair trimmed! It's something I had been needing to do for quite a while, so it was nice to get it done! The girl who cut my hair did a really good job and I'm pretty happy with the cut. For some reason I always put off getting my hair done, but it just feels so nice to get rid of the split ends!
4. Is anyone planning on watching the Olympics? Considering all the controversy around it this year and everything, I'm not really into it. And I've always been more of a fan of the winter Olympics anyways.

As far as summer events go, I like to watch gymnastics (my cousin is a gymnast so I hope maybe someday I'll see her compete in the Olympics!).

I'm planning on watching the opening ceremonies though, sometimes that can be really interesting, and other times it can be really boring!

What is your favorite event to watch?

5. I only got one post up this week, but if you are interested in my review of the July Ipsy glam bag, you can check that out here!
I hope you all have a great weekend!

July Ipsy Glam Bag

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer: I'm not super impressed with this makeup primer. It just didn't do that great of a job. But then again, it is so hot where I live right now that I don't think any primer would really do all that great of a job at the moment. It does seem to work better than the MAKE UP FOR EVER Hydrating Primer I received in the March glam bag.
OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner in Silk: I'm not a huge fan of this product. I don't use lip liner, so it's not a useful product for me. But I did like the light pink shade (I received the liner in the Silk color.) But that's about it. It seemed really waxy and not something I would want to use even if I did use a lip liner regularly.
theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar: This eye shadow was nice. The shade was okay, maybe a tad darker than I would typically use, but otherwise not bad. It's really pigmented, a little goes a long ways! I didn't like the packaging though. The guy on the front was kind of creepy!
Cake Beauty Delectable lemon & cream ultra nourishing hand cream: I did end up really liking this hand cream! It has a really nice scent and it's too greasy. It rubs in well and is moisturizing. I really liked that it was pretty natural and didn't have a bunch of crap in it. It says that there are no parabens, petroleum products, or other toxic chemicals. So I felt safe using it! I would recommend it. I'd also check out what other scents they have!
VASANTI COSMETICS Professional Eyeshadow Brush: I already have more than enough makeup brushes, so I wasn't happy to see I would be getting yet another makeup brush. And to add to the disappointment, the brush was shoved into the bag and the bristles are all bent up. I tried straightening them out but it just won't go completely back to normal. Besides that, there really isn't anything special about the brush. It's just like any other brush I've used.
Again, I wasn't super impressed with this glam bag. I just didn't receive very many products that I actually wanted. I keep reviewing and doing their survey, but I am not receiving items that are on my list or things I want. So I'm left disappointed again.

I've decided to wait and see what I get in the August bag, and if it's another disappointment, then I will probably cancel.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
