Saturday was our first full free day in San Antonio; as Thursday and Friday were filled with graduation activities. There isn't a ton of things to do in San Antonio (at least as far as I could find) and it was SO hot and humid there that it was a bit difficult to find things to do in that weather.
Despite the unbearable weather we decided to visit Mission San José. Generally when you visit historical locations there are a lot of plaques telling you the history of the place and such, but there wasn't really much information there. I also couldn't find much online about the history of the mission either. You can read a little bit about the history here if you are interested.
Fortunately the mission wasn't too busy so we were able to take lots of pictures without there being a lot of people in the way.
The architecture of the church itself was quite beautiful and made for some interesting pictures. Mission San José is free to visit and definitely a must-see if you are ever in San Antonio!
Have you ever visited a mission or historical church?
Those are some pretty neat pictures even if there wasn't as much historical information as you'd have liked.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad we were able to visit!
