Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to this weeks edition of Five for Friday! I am linking up with Della DevotedCup of Tea, Bright on a Budget and Coffee With Caitlin!

This past week has been really boring. I really didn't do anything exciting or interesting, so writing this post was harder than usual! And I can't believe it's August already! (I feel like I'm always saying that!) While I am glad that summer is almost over (hopefully it won't linger into September! I am tired of hot weather!) It's hard to believe that the year is already over halfway over. Anyways, here's my five things...

1. So, weird thing happened last night. We were out on a walk, and I kinda see this thing on the sidewalk. I thought it was a stick so I wasn't paying too much attention to it when I start to step around it and it MOVES. Turns out it was a SNAKE! It slithered across the sidewalk and into a puddle. And I almost stepped on it!
I had never seen a snake in our neighborhood, and usually there are little sticks all over the sidewalk so I was NOT expecting that! It wasn't too big, maybe 6-8 inches long, but still gross!  Snakes don't usually scare me, but almost stepping on one was definitely freaky!

2. My brother was on Facebook and this popped up on his screen, so he posted it
And then as soon as I liked his photo,
this popped up on my screen! Has anyone else gotten this? So weird!

3. I finished this book earlier this week. It only took me 2 and a half days. I've followed Kayla and Scarlette's story since it was shared on a message board after Scarlette was born, and I have followed Kayla Aimee's blog since right around then as well. I thought I knew most of their story since I had been reading her blog for so long, but there was still SO much to their story that I didn't know. If you've never heard it, Scarlette was born at 25 weeks and this book talks about the 156 days they spent in the NICU. She talks a lot about faith and how they got through. It's a really great book and is really well written. I definitely recommend it!
4. In case you missed it, I shared my Sunshine VoxBox review and pictures from Lyon, France.

5. I tried out the nail polish I got in my Sunshine VoxBox and I was surprised at how much I liked the color! It's not a color I would have picked out on my own, but I thought it looked nice.
I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes in exchange for an honest review. All reviews and opinions are my own.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I was just telling my husband the other day that September would be here before we knew it and that I'd have to start my Christmas shopping soon. Goodness, where did our summer go? I'll have to check that book out, especially since you read it so fast. It must be really good. Great nail color, too... :)

    1. It's crazy how fast the year seems to have gone by! It's not too long of a book, a little over 200 pages, but it was really good. I don't typically read non-fiction, but since I have been a fan of Kayla Aimee's blog, I had to buy the book! I think you might like it!
Thanks! Blue is my favorite color, so I really liked the polish!

  3. I love that nail polish color. So pretty! That's not my usual color choice, but this one is so pretty! It's got more grey tones in it, which I prefer. The snake story! Horrible!!! I hate snakes. I don't mind bugs (unless they fly right in my face) but snakes? No. Can't do it.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!
