April Ipsy Glam Bag

For the most part, I was pleased with this month's glam bag. There were a couple great items, and a few not so great. But nothing that I really disliked or anything!

 Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Irina - I was very interested in trying an organic nail polish, so I was excited to see I was getting one in my glam bag! The color wasn't my favorite, I'm not a huge fan of gray polish, but once I put it on it started to grow on me. Since the polish is a light color, I had to put on a couple of coats. It does go on well and dried pretty quickly. The smell isn't quite as bad as other polishes, which is nice.

 Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Gel to Oil Overnight Repair Treatment - I'm not really a fan of this product. First off, I typically shower at night, so it was pretty inconvenient for me to even try. I didn't really notice much difference after using it. It did smell very nice though. Too much trouble for no results.

 Tarte cosmetics LipSurgence lip crème in Wonder - I really liked this lip crème! The color was pretty and I liked how it looked. It went on very easily and was very creamy. It also was moisturizing and long lasting. The only thing I didn't like was it kind of had a minty flavor that I didn't really care for (It's not strong, I'm just not a huge fan of peppermint). This was definitely my favorite item in this month's bag!

 City Color Cosmetics Highlight Trio - I wasn't real thrilled when I saw I was getting another highlighter, it's just not something I use. I could only use the shade on the right and in the middle, the other one was too dark and orangey and looked weird on me. I'm just not a fan of using highlight because I really don't notice any difference when wearing it. 

 Luxie Beauty Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522 - I'm kind of indifferent to this brush. It seems well made, is very soft and works well, but I just didn't need another makeup brush.

Lilacs

Lilacs are some of my favorite flowers. I love how they smell and I really like the varying shades of purple they come in!

April Love With Food Box

 This month's box was a bust. I didn't like hardly anything in it. It was a little disappointing because I had high hopes for this box.

Black Rice Crackers by Laiki: These were pretty gross. Too salty and a weird flavor. I don't know why, but they reminded me of the way homemade play dough smells. They really didn't even have much flavor. 

Fruit Snacks by Tasty Brand: These were pretty good. They weren't too sticky and the flavors weren't bad. I did like these.

Gluten-Free Waffle by Honey Stinger: This was pretty good. It's soft and chewy and not a real strong cinnamon flavor. I don't really think there's much to it in terms of energy, there really isn't anything in it that would give you energy except sugar and carbs. And there is less than one gram of protein and there is 10 grams of sugar. So not exactly a healthy snack! But it does taste pretty good!

Chocolate Chip Biscotti by Biscotti Di Suzy: I found the biscotti to be disappointing. There was literally three chocolate chips in the biscotti (and they were all in the same place, not even distributed throughout the biscotti. As someone who does a lot of baking, I find that kind of annoying. Like, at least mix your dough!) The flavor just wasn't very good either. I didn't like that there was no packaging at all, that just seemed a little odd.

 Coconut Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips by Boulder Canyon: These were really good! And my favorite item in this month's box. I was curious to whether or not these would have a coconut flavor, but they didn't. I've purchased Boulder Canyon potato chips quite a bit in the past (but I'd never had the coconut oil ones). The chips were a little bit greasy, but the flavor was pretty good!

Blueberry Acai Flax Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze by Munk Pack: This was terrible. The texture was weird (it wasn't quite a liquid, but it wasn't like regular oatmeal), the flavor was nasty. My sister and I both tried it and we both did not like it! This got tossed in the trash.

Korean Barbeque Premium Steak Strips by Lorissa's Kitchen: I didn't care for these either. They were very tough and hard to bite through, and the flavor was too strong. My sister enjoyed them though.

Green Tea Latte Candy by Bali's Best: I wasn't really a fan of these. I don't really like hard candy or green tea in the first place, so this just wasn't something I cared for. 

I did cancel my Love With Food subscription after receiving this box. I just haven't been too excited about any of the items in either box. 3 out of 8 just isn't worth the money for me.

Ikea haul

While we were in Seattle we made a stop by the Ikea in Renton. We all really like Ikea, and there's always something we need from there! 

Here's what I picked up while we were there:

MARIETORP Frame, black - I got a poster for Christmas and needed a frame for it, and this was the closest size I could find. It was even on clearance!

VIRSERUM Frame, dark brown - My frame is black, but for some reason the black is not listed online. I really like Ikea picture frames, they're pretty inexpensive but they still look nice. Their picture ledges are great too!

FULLFÖLJA Notepad, white - A notepad with polka dots? I couldn't pass that up! I always write notes and stuff, so it will definitely be well used!

FARLIG Pitcher with lid, clear glass - I had been looking for a pitcher like this for a while now, so I was glad to finally find one! I think the square size will fit better in the fridge. And I think it will be perfect for cold brewed coffee in the summer!

VARDAGEN Carafe with lid, clear glass - I really like this jar! The rubber lid has a nice, tight fit (I wouldn't recommend holding it upside down when there's water inside or anything, I'm not sure if it would hold.) but it won't come off easily either! I think I'll have to pick up a couple more of them next time we go. 

LJUSÖGA Duvet cover and pillowcase(s), flower - And last but not least I picked up this pretty duvet! I got a comforter about a year ago (They don't sell the same one anymore, but this one looks about the same.) I really wanted a cooler comforter, especially for during the summer and it's pretty nice. 

I kind of liked the look of just a white comforter, but I also kind of wanted a duvet. I saw this and thought it might be too busy of a pattern, but I really like it!

And for the record, I have a queen sized bed, but since Ikea's beds are European sized, (meaning they are smaller than American sized beds) the king sized comforter worked better on my queen sized bed.

We also made sure to pick up some cookies, a few pieces of furniture and some other random things.
