Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea , Della Devoted , and Bright on a Budget!

How is it July first already??? It seems like the summer is flying by! Although I am kind of okay with that, I am sick of the hot weather already! It's been in the upper 90's and 100's this week!

But here's a few highlights from the week:

1. I picked up these cookies from Trader Joe's earlier this week and they are SO good! They taste just like a waffle cone, but butterier. You should definitely buy some ;) I broke one up and put it on my ice cream last night and it was delicious!
2. I made a big batch of cold brewed coffee the other day. I really like cold brew, but it's so expensive at Starbucks! I typically just order the iced coffee, but I like being able to make it at home too.

Here's how to make your own!
3. I stopped by Target yesterday and picked up a couple of things. I've been disappointed with the Dollar Spot lately. It was full of back to school stuff already! I keep seeing people posting cute stuff they got at their Dollar Spot, but the Targets in my area are old and dumpy and rarely have anything good.

But anyways, I picked up this e.l.f. lip balm and I really like the color! I had gotten a different shade in the June Target beauty box, and wanted to try it in red.

It's a nice lightish red and the lip balm has a bit of a minty flavor. For $2.00 it's a pretty good buy!

And I also bought the eos lip balm in strawberry sorbet and it's a really nice flavor! I would definitely recommend both!
4. I also stopped by Hobby Lobby yesterday. Can I just say that I don't like that store? I know a lot of people are completely obsessed with it, but it just annoys me. It just seems like their prices are more than Michael's or Joann's, and it drives me crazy that they don't scan bar codes! It is SO inefficient! And they already had their fall stuff and were starting to put out Christmas stuff! Craziness!

Then the girl at the register was arguing with me about the price of the washi tape and saying it wasn't on sale when it was. And that was still after another employee told her it was on sale. You know, because it's not like they could just use a computer system to calculate that for them…sigh. Sorry. Rant over.

Ha. Anyways. I stopped by there because I've been in a bit of a scrapbooking slump and was hoping for some inspiration. I didn't find anything too exciting, but I did find some fun washi tape as well as a paper pad that was $3.00!
5. In case you missed it, I shared a post about the June Target Mens' box as well as a review of the June Love With Food box!
Have a great weekend! Does anyone have any fun plans for the Fourth?

  1. I've only been to Hobby Lobby a couple of times and I didn't realize they didn't scan. Weird! I LOVE that coffee washi tape though!

  2. Yeah, it's super odd! I've even tried doing Google searches trying to find why they do it that way and I can't find anything. And then if you buy something that's on sale, they have manually search through their weekly add to find the item, and then type in the price. It takes SO long if you are buying more than a couple of items.

The coffee washi tape was too good to pass up!

  3. Ooh, I've never seen that ELF Lip Balm before! I generally like their stuff (and certainly their prices!), so I might need to check that out! I hate when the Dollar Spot is lame, ugh. It's very hit or miss at the Target closest to my house. The coffee washi tape is so cute, and the globe too! We don't have Hobby Lobby around here, so I was like "what the what?" haha!

  4. Their prices are great! I'm always surprised at how good E.L.F. products are considering the price. I need to check out more of their products.
You definitely aren't missing anything not having a Hobby Lobby. I just don't understand what their problem is with scanning barcodes! It's not that difficult...
