Five For Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea Bright on a Budget, and  Della Devoted!

1. I'm always on the lookout for new recipes to try, and when I came across this baking book, I was excited to see that our library actually had it! (Our local library system is not that great.)

The pictures were so pretty and I will need to go out and buy both books! When I saw the recipe for nanaimo bar cupcakes though, I HAD to try them!

The cupcakes turned out SO good! I really like baked goods, but am not a fan of overly sweet stuff. Which is why I prefer baking things myself so I can control how much sugar goes into what I bake. These cupcakes were so fluffy and chocolatey, but not overly sweet. And the custard icing was great too! Definitely a win!
2. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had ordered a couple of tops from American Eagle, and while I really liked this tee, I ended up returning the other one. This one was just so boxy and looked really weird. I love a good floral pattern, and this reminded me of Delft blue pottery.
3. With Valentine's day coming up next week, I thought I would share a couple DIY garlands I posted a couple years ago! I made a card garland and a quick and easy pom pom garland. Do you have any plans for Valentine's day?
4. I also had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was giving our ice cream maker one last chance to work properly, and I'm happy to report that my ice cream did turn out!

It was only a little runny, but no where near what it was doing!
5. Just in case you missed it, on Monday I shared a review of my January Ipsy glam bag! You should check it out!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I'm really curious about subscribing to Ipsy. My sister got it for a few months and really loved it. Yay for your ice cream machine working. :)

  2. Those cupcakes look amazing!! I'm not a big fan of overly sweet stuff either, so I can see the appeal of baking your own stuff.

  3. For the most part, I'm pretty happy with Ipsy. Every once in a while I get a bag that's a dud, but usually there's a few things I like! And at $10 I feel like it's cheap enough where I don't feel too bad if I don't like an item in it. It still is a good value for the price. I was really happy it worked too! Thanks for stopping by!
