Five for Friday

Hello and welcome to my Five for Friday! I am linking up with Cup of Tea , Della Devoted , and Bright on a Budget!

1. My mom's birthday was last Sunday and she requested the funfetti cake I made a little while ago! I remembered the baking powder this time, so it turned out way better! ;) So light and fluffy!
(I used this recipe.)
2. While out shopping for my mom's birthday, I picked up these flowers from Trader Joe's! They always have such pretty, inexpensive flowers!
3. I finished watching Stranger Things last weekend! It's definitely an odd show, but so good! I actually really liked the cinematography in this series. It's very different than most tv shows and one of the reasons I liked it so much.

I'm glad they ended the series without leaving major cliffhangers or anything! They left just enough so you're wanting more.
I'm trying to convince my sister to watch it, but so far she hasn't been interested. I need someone to watch it with me so I can talk about it to someone!
4. The September Target beauty box was released this past Monday, so I made sure to buy that! The last few boxes have been pretty good, and this one looks good as well!

5. I got two posts up this week! First, I shared pictures from the Tacoma museum of glass, and then I shared a Target haul!
Hope you have a great weekend! Anyone have any fun plans for the holiday weekend?

  1. Pretty cake and flowers! I want to watch Stranger Things, but I have so many shows to watch already! Ahhh, major first world problems.

  2. Thanks! I have a lot of shows on my Netflix list to watch too! I'm usually the person who never gets into something just because everyone else is watching it, but that can also be a negative when the fanfare dies down and I end up missing all the excitement. So I just moved it to the front of my list and watched it anyways ;) And I ended up really liking it. I'm not really a sci-fi fan (I mean, I like Star Wars and Doctor Who, but that's about it.) It isn't a series for everyone; if you get jumpy during movies/tv shows, then this might not be the show for you. And the nostalgia of the show is fun. Even though I was a kid during the 90's instead of the 80'swhen the show is set, it still has a fun feel to it and definitely reminds me of being a kid! (The kids in the series spend a lot of time riding around on bikes.)

  3. That cake looks amazing!! The inside is so pretty, as are the flowers! I haven't watched Stranger Things, although I'm kind of intrigued since the whole world seems to be crazy about it! I'm not a big sc-fi person though, so that makes me sort of reluctant to start it... Not to mention that I mainly watch Netflix before bed, and I had to stop watching new-to-me episodes of Grey's because they would freak me out too much. Stranger Things seems like it would fall into the same category, haha!

  4. I am such a wuss so I don't think I'll be watching stranger things! Then again, I'm usually late to the party - I've only just finished Breaking Bad!! Alice xxx

  5. Thanks! It was so good! I'm not a big sci-fi person either, but I really liked it. It's definitely not a show for everyone. If you get scared or jumpy easily, it might not be good for you! I wouldn't say it's scary as in horror movie scary (not that I've ever seen a horror movie!) but I guess it's just kind of creepy at times. Not really any worse than anything you'd see in, say, Harry Potter or something. I just really liked the story, characters, and the cinematography! It's a very well done show from that standpoint!

  6. It's definitely not a show for everyone. Especially if you happen to be jumpy! I still haven't watched Breaking Bad! I feel like it's almost too late to even get into it now!
